Leo Express Children's Day marked by safety and support for children from disadvantaged families

Carrier hosts second year of successful customer event

Prague, 1st of June 2024 - The Leo Express Children's Day again attracted hundreds of visitors, not only children, to platform 1B. They could look into the driver's cab, win a paper model of the Leo Express train, try a railroad quiz or enjoy free coffee, soft drinks or ice cream. There was also a BESIP stand from the Ministry of Transport, which drew attention to safety not only on the railways. Leo Express also became a partner of the fundraising campaign Summer for Children from Disadvantaged Families on the Znesnáze donation platform.

"Traditionally, the most popular attraction of the Leo Express Children's Day was the opportunity to look inside the cab and take a photo. It was clear that it was not only the children who enjoyed the visit. The balloon animals, the wheel of fortune and the portraits drawn by a caricaturist were also a great success. In addition to fun, we also focused on safety together with BESIP and helping children from disadvantaged families in cooperation with Znesnáze," says Lea Macíková, marketing specialist at Leo Express.

Hundreds of visitors to the Leo Express Children's Day were also able to enjoy the Chill Zone with deck chairs and sitting bags, purchase Leo Express merchandise at a 25% discount, or enjoy free non-alcoholic mixed drinks, coffee and coffee drinks from L'OR, or ice cream from Puro Gelato.

Leo Express considers traveling by public transport to be an important aspect of a child's education and development, so young travelers are always welcome on its low-floor trains. According to the company, traveling by train is not only a way to educate children about ecology and care for the environment, but also to improve skills such as independence, self-confidence and communication.

In addition to BESIP, which focused on safety on site and was a partner of the event, it was also supported by the Czech NSA (Drážní úřad), the Czech Infrastructure manager (Správa železnic) and the Kingdom of railways (Království železnic).

Support for children from disadvantaged families

Leo Express has also become a partner of the fundraising campaign Summer for Children from Disadvantaged Families on the Znesnáze donation platform. The aim is to collect a total of 300,000 CZK. The children will then be able to spend almost two weeks in a cottage in the Czech Republic, where they would otherwise not be able to go, and enjoy games and other recreational activities.

"And the help and the smiles on the faces of the little ones do not end there. Leo Express will provide our customers with vouchers for free rides on their trains. Single mothers will thus be able to take their children on trips that they would not be able to make in the summer due to their poor financial situation," says Simona Patelisová, PR manager of Znesnáze.

An arranged trip from Ostrava to Prague for a medical examination, or the first trip outside the Czech Republic - these are all situations that Leo Express can help clients to overcome and stabilize or improve their situation.
