Children's Day with Leo Express trains focused on fun and ecology, attracted hundreds of visitors
Prague, June 2, 2023 - Hundreds of Leo Express customers enjoyed International Children's Day with their families on the railway. The carrier organized a Children's Day for them on the platform 1B of the Prague Main Station. A rich program and many activities were prepared not only for the youngest customers, including a prize wheel, a photo wall, a railway quiz and refreshments from the new on-board menu. In addition to the entertainment, Leo Express also prepared information about the advantages of train travel and, in particular, its impact on the environment.
"The most popular attraction, especially for the children, was the photo session in the driver's cab, where they could ask our drivers interesting questions about train transportation. The balloon animal making was also a success. At the same time, we tried to inform the children about the ecological importance of train travel," says Lea Macíková, marketing specialist at Leo Express.
Refreshments were also prepared for the passengers. Visitors could taste fresh news from the new on-board menu. Ice cream or non-alcoholic mixed drinks were also a refreshing surprise. Children and adults could enjoy everything for free. Customers could also purchase company merchandise, such as stylish limited-edition socks for the company's 10th anniversary, a ceramic mug or an eco-friendly tote bag.
The Leo Express trains are suitable for children and their parents thanks to their low-floor access, which makes it easier for the youngest travelers and parents with strollers to board. There is also plenty of space on board for strollers.
Education for sustainability starts at an early age
Leo Express believes that education about public transportation is an important aspect of a child's education and development, which is why young passengers are always welcome on the company's low-floor trains. The company believes that train travel is an important way to educate children about ecology and care for the environment.
Ecology is an important topic for society in general. For three years now, the company has been offering passengers the opportunity to offset the carbon footprint of their trip. The offset will compensate for the greenhouse gas emissions generated during the train journey. The company then sends the money to fund planting activities. In total, the company was able to offset over 610 tons of carbon dioxide and plant 115 trees in the Czech municipalities of Jabloňov, Beňov and Jeneč.
