Leo Express expands its operations in Poland: The carrier has launched ticket sales for the new Krakow – Warsaw line from 2 €, offers connections between Warsaw and Prague, and increases the number of connections from Krakow to Prague

Prague, August 27, 2025 - The international carrier Leo Express is expanding its operations in the Polish market and opening a new route. From March 1, 2026, it will launch direct train connections between Warsaw and Krakow and further to Prague, which will run twice a day. The carrier has already started ticket sales, with promotional fares starting at 2 €. At the same time, it is increasing the number of connections between Krakow and Prague to up to four per day. On these routes, the carrier offers both day and night train connections. Passengers will be able to choose from several travel classes, including the luxurious Premium Class, and enjoy a comfortable journey with onboard refreshments, 5G Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. The new connections will be operated by modern Stadler Flirt train units.

From March 1, 2026, Leo Express will launch operations on the new Warsaw – Krakow – Prague route, which will extend the existing Krakow – Prague route to the Polish capital and strengthen it with two additional connections every day. From December 14, 2025, the carrier will also newly offer a daily train connection between Krakow and Prague, which will be boosted on selected days with an additional pair of trains.

“Poland is a traditional market for Leo Express, where our customers have been using train or bus connections between Krakow and Prague or connecting buses to Ukraine for almost 10 years. Now we have fulfilled their wish and are expanding our services to domestic connections between Krakow and Warsaw. The connections are planned so that passengers can travel with Leo Express to Warsaw or Krakow in the morning and return with the same carrier in the evening. At the same time, we will offer international connections between Warsaw and Prague and add connections between Krakow and Prague, which enable comfortable travel to these capitals during the day or at night,” says Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.

The newly launched route in Poland represents another step towards the systematic development of Leo Express activities in this market. In the future, the carrier does not rule out the possibility of further expanding services on both commercial routes and public service obligation lines.

"The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Warsaw warmly welcomes the planned new train connection between the Czech Republic and Poland. We firmly believe that this new rail connection to our northern neighbors and friends will contribute to further mutual understanding and excellent cooperation between our two countries. We wish everyone a safe journey!" says Břetislav Dančák, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Poland.

Safety, reliability, and international background

Leo Express has long been among the carriers with the best results in terms of safety, reliability, and punctuality. Thanks to regular and thorough maintenance of its fleet, the carrier avoids failures of systems key to passenger comfort, such as heating or air conditioning, and maintains a high level of operational safety. These results are also supported by its international shareholder structure. The largest shareholder is Renfe, the Spanish national railway operator with extensive experience in high-speed rail. Other investors come from both the Czech Republic and abroad, underlining the international character of the company and its focus on the European market.

Trains with superior services will run all the way to Warsaw

On the Warsaw – Krakow – Prague route, Leo Express will deploy low-floor, air-conditioned trains with 5G Wi-Fi and onboard refreshments included in the ticket price for higher classes. Seasonal specialties, including gluten-free and vegan meals, are served on board. Refreshments are delivered directly to passengers after ordering.

On the train, passengers can use the Economy Class with leather seats or the superior Economy Plus and Business Classes, which offer more legroom and selected refreshments included in the ticket price. In the highest and at the same time quiet Premium Class, there are six reclining seats ideal for rest. Refreshments and drinks, including prosecco, are also included in the ticket price. Premium Class offers passengers maximum privacy and individual service, which, combined with high comfort, ranks this class among the absolute top not only in Poland but in the whole of Central Europe.

Thanks to the Smile Club loyalty program, it is possible to receive up to 10% cashback from the fare after each journey for further travel or onboard refreshments.
