Leo Express operates its first direct train from Frankfurt to Przemyśl today
New service connects Poland, Czechia and Germany

Today, Leo Express launched train services along the entire route of its new international service, connecting Przemyśl, Rzeszów, Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Erfurt and Frankfurt am Main. The new rail service ranks among the longest in Europe, enabling passengers to travel across Poland, Czechia and Germany without changing trains. The route is served by air-conditioned coaches equipped with Wi-Fi and power sockets. The new service also includes couchette coaches, with breakfast included in the ticket price. Depending on demand, the operator plans to increase the train's capacity to up to eight coaches.
The international service began operating on 25 June. Since then, passengers have been able to use a direct train between Frankfurt am Main, Prague, Ostrava and Bohumín, while connecting buses temporarily carried passengers in Poland due to an ongoing economic equilibrium test conducted by the Polish authorities. Following the completion of this process, Leo Express today deployed a train along the entire route to Przemyśl for the first time.
“Today, we are launching a new direct rail connection between the western and eastern parts of Central Europe. Passengers can travel without changing trains from Przemyśl, Rzeszów or Kraków via Ostrava and Prague to Dresden, central Germany and Frankfurt am Main. This forms part of our strategy to create new international connections that offer people a comfortable and affordable alternative to travelling by car or plane,” says Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.
Direct connection across three European countries
In Poland, the train will serve, among other destinations, Przemyśl, Jarosław, Rzeszów, Tarnów, Kraków and Oświęcim. In Czechia, it will stop at stations including Bohumín, Ostrava, Olomouc, Pardubice, Prague, Ústí nad Labem and Děčín. In Germany, it will continue via Bad Schandau, Dresden, Halle, Weimar, Erfurt, Eisenach and Fulda to Frankfurt am Main.
The new service can be used for business and study trips, family visits and tourism. The direct connection will make destinations such as Kraków, Prague and Dresden more accessible, as well as the natural landscapes of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland, which can be reached via Děčín and Bad Schandau stations.

The timetable may vary from day to day depending on engineering works and line closures. Passengers should therefore check the current departure time and list of stops in the Leo Express booking system before travelling.
Couchette coaches with breakfast included in the ticket price
Leo Express has also newly added Economy Sleeper couchette coaches to its trains, enabling passengers to travel a substantial part of the long journey comfortably overnight.
The couchette coaches offer compartments for one to four passengers. When booking, passengers can choose a berth in either a mixed or women-only compartment. Breakfast is included in the ticket price. The addition of the couchette coaches has increased the train’s capacity by 32 places. Economy class tickets on long-distance international routes, for example to Frankfurt or Przemyśl, start at 9.9 EUR, while Economy Sleeper tickets start at 37.9 EUR. Passengers can also choose seats in the higher Business class. Ticket prices start at 24.9 EUR.
Tickets can be purchased through the booking system on the Leo Express website leoexpress.com and in the mobile app. When purchasing a ticket, passengers select a specific service, travel class and seat or berth.
