Leo Express Reports Record Ticket Sales in Poland
Warsaw, September 24, 2025 - There is extraordinary demand for Leo Express services in Poland, with the company already selling 70,000 tickets on its Polish routes. The strong sales performance is motivating the company to consider to expand its open access services to additional key cities in the future such as Gdańsk, Łódź, Częstochowa, Poznań or Wrocław. At the same time, Leo Express is introducing a year-round guarantee for air conditioning and heating functionality and is preparing a new onboard menu with fresh snacks and meals, including the traditional Polish soup żurek.
The international carrier has already sold 70,000 tickets this year for its services in Poland, demonstrating high demand for travel on modern low-floor trains equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and at-seat catering.
“Ticket sales on our existing and new Polish routes have exceeded expectations. This means our trains are already reaching capacity limits, so we will continue to expand capacity going forward,” said Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.
On the back of this success, Leo Express is considering to expand its open access operations to additional key cities in the future such as Gdańsk, Łódź, Częstochowa, Poznań or Wrocław. Other destinations across Central Europe are also being prepared and will be announced in due course.
In response to passenger needs, Leo Express is also introducing a full-year guarantee on heating and air conditioning. If the guarantee is not met, passengers will be refunded 100% of their ticket price in credits. “We want to ensure our passengers always travel comfortably and reliably. With this guarantee, we are addressing frequent outages and service issues among competitors, which can discourage people from choosing rail travel,” added Köhler.
As part of its quality guarantee, Leo Express also commits to offering fresh snacks and a wide range of hot and cold drinks on every service. For its Polish routes, the carrier is preparing a new onboard menu that will include the popular Polish soup żurek for 1 EUR.
Köhler further emphasized: “We do not only aim to attract passengers from other rail operators, but also to bring new customers to the railway – from long-distance buses, air travel, and cars. Rail has historically struggled with reliability and service quality, and that is exactly what Leo Express is determined to change.”
Leo Express expands operations in Poland
From March 1, 2026, Leo Express will launch a new rail service on the Warsaw – Kraków – Prague route, extending its existing Kraków – Prague line all the way to the Polish capital and strengthening it with two additional daily connections. In addition, starting December 14, 2025, the operator will introduce a new daily train between Kraków and Prague, which on selected days will be supplemented with an additional pair of services.
On the Warsaw – Kraków – Prague route, Leo Express will operate low-floor, air-conditioned Stadler Flirt trains equipped with 5G Wi-Fi and complimentary refreshments in higher travel classes. Seasonal specialties, including gluten-free and vegan dishes, will be served on board. Passengers can also order snacks and drinks delivered directly to their seats.
All trains will feature an Economy Class with comfortable leather seats, as well as higher classes – Economy Plus and Business – offering more legroom and selected complimentary refreshments. The highest and quietest travel class, Premium, will include six adjustable seats designed for maximum comfort and relaxation. The Premium ticket price also includes snacks and beverages. Premium Class provides passengers with maximum privacy and personalized service, placing it among the very best travel experiences not only in Poland but across Central Europe.
The newly launched line in Poland represents another step in the systematic development of Leo Express operations in the Polish market. The operator does not rule out further expansion in the future, both on commercial routes and as part of public service obligation contracts.
