Leo Express launches new cross-border routes and unveils livery for RAILPOOLs Vectron locomotives
Prague, 20 April 2026
Leo Express has unveiled the livery of locomotives intended for Talgo trainsets, which will be deployed on new routes Prague – Bratislava and Prague – Prešov. The company is leasing a total of three modern multi-system locomotives from RAILPOOL, with one presented in a full white-and-orange wrap.
“For the Talgo trainsets that will start operating in the upcoming weeks between Prague and Bratislava and Prague and Prešov, we selected the most modern multi-system locomotives. Their reliability underlines the quality of service that Leo Express customers are accustomed to,” explains Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.
The leased modern multi-system Vectron locomotives from RAILPOOL will be used to operate thirteen-carriage Talgo trainsets with a capacity of 350 passengers, secured through a strategic partnership between Leo Express and Renfe. The trainsets offer a unique combination of low-floor design and barrier-free accessibility. Thanks to the tilting system and the technical design of the bogies, the ride remains smooth and comfortable even on curved tracks. The trainsets have a maximum speed of up to 200 km/h.
The design of the locomotive liveries as well as the Talgo trainsets further develops the Leo Express brand’s visual identity. It works with a predominantly white color scheme, distinctive orange accents, and technology-inspired graphic elements that emphasize dynamism, speed, and the international character of the operator. At the same time, it fits into the brand’s visual identity, as Leo Express already predominantly uses white on its regional lines in the Pardubice region in Czechia and on the Bratislava–Komárno route in Slovakia.
“We are delighted to be supporting Leo Express for the first time in cross-border passenger transport between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. By using modern, interoperable locomotives, RAILPOOL enables the participating companies to operate smoothly across national borders – with the highest standards in safety, comfort and sustainability,” adds Torsten Lehnert, CEO of RAILPOOL.
