Leo Express Launches New Connections to Bratislava via Zlín Region and Adds New Routes to Warsaw and Kraków

New Timetable, Including Christmas Services, Now on Sale

Prague, October 8 2025 - Leo Express has launched ticket sales for its new timetable, which includes popular Christmas connections within the Czech Republic and abroad. The carrier is reintroducing services from Prague via Přerov, Hulín, and Otrokovice to Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště, now extended further through Hodonín and Břeclav all the way to Bratislava. Modern low-floor, air-conditioned Talgo S6 trains will be deployed on the route. Thanks to a convenient transfer in Přerov, passengers from the Ostrava region will also benefit from direct connections to Bratislava. In Poland, Leo Express will increase frequencies and launch a new route between Kraków and Warsaw. At the same time, the company is extending its year-round guarantee of heating and air-conditioning, with 100% fare refunds if the guarantee is not met. Domestic ticket prices still start at 4 EUR, and tickets up to June 2026 are available.

Leo Express is gradually introducing new services in line with infrastructure upgrades and available rail capacity. From December 14, the company will increase frequencies between Prague and Kraków, with daily departures and additional services on selected days. Services to Slovakia will also operate twice daily, terminating in Prešov.

From March 1, 2026, Leo Express will launch a new Kraków–Warsaw route with two daily services, increasing the total number of Prague–Kraków connections to up to four per day. Due to infrastructure works at Žilina station, services to Prešov will be temporarily suspended but will resume on April 30, 2026.

Back to Slovácko Region and Newly All the Way to Bratislava

From April 30, 2026, Leo Express will launch a new line to Bratislava while also returning to the Slovácko region, where its trains have historically been very popular. The route will be operated with modern low-floor Talgo S6 trains, fitted with passive tilting technology which improves comfort, also equipped with air-conditioning. Services will operate from Prague via Přerov, Hulín, Otrokovice, and Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště, and will now continue further via Hodonín and Břeclav to Bratislava. Leo Express will offer two daily return services, one of which will originate at Bratislava–Petržalka station, ensuring direct links from one of the city’s most populous districts to Prague.

“Passengers in the Zlín Region asked for the return of Leo Express services, and we are bringing them back with truly low-floor and high comfort trains. Competing long-distance operators typically use high-floor trains, where stairs can discourage parents with children, seniors, cyclists, or passengers with reduced mobility. We have designed the timetable to serve Slovácko as well as new stops in Hodonín, Břeclav, and Bratislava. In the Slovak capital, we will stop both at the main station, where our regional trains depart for Dunajská Streda and Komárno, and also across the Danube in Petržalka. No other operator currently offers this connection, and we believe it will attract many new passengers,” says Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express.

“Our trains will be offering a unique combination of low-floor accessibility and barrier-free travel. Thanks to their tilting technology and advanced bogie design, they deliver a smooth and comfortable ride even on curves. The trains have seen successful operation in Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. I am confident that these unique features will attract not only passengers from competing rail operators, but also those currently traveling by car, bus, or plane – showcasing a more comfortable and sustainable way of travel. Reliable heating, cooling, and an independent power supply are of course guaranteed,” adds Peter Köhler.

With this new line, Leo Express will introduce direct connections where none previously existed, including Zábřeh na Moravě – Bratislava, Olomouc – Bratislava, and Hulín – Bratislava. The new stops will also provide convenient travel options for passengers from the Zlín and Uherský Brod regions. In Bratislava, passengers will be able to connect to Leo Express regional trains to Dunajská Streda and Komárno.

“As always, fares will start from CZK 99 or EUR 4 when booked in advance. We recommend that customers secure their tickets early, especially for popular travel periods such as Advent or Christmas. Tickets for Easter 2026, as well as for May and June 2026, are already available for purchase,” adds Köhler.

Year-Round Guarantee of Heating and Air-Conditioning or 100% Fare Refund

Leo Express has long guaranteed the functionality of air-conditioning on its services during summer months (June–August), with full fare refunds if the guarantee is not met. Its performance stands at 99.999%, with only a handful of tickets refunded each year. With the new timetable, the guarantee will now be valid year-round and extended to include heating during winter.

If air-conditioning or heating is out of service for more than 45 minutes and it is not possible to reseat the passenger in another climate-controlled part of the train, Leo Express will refund 100% of the ticket price in leo credits. The only condition is Smile Club membership, which also provides additional benefits such as up to 10% cashback on every journey.
