The Karlovy Vary region is famous for its UNESCO-listed spas, but there is also untamed nature, wild mountains and monuments full of stories and legends. Did you know that the Bečov nad Teplou Castle keeps the second most valuable artifact in Czechia? The discovery of the Reliquary of St. Maurus was a true spy story.

Bohemian Switzerland without car

The rugged rocks, breath-taking vistas, deep chasms and gorges, streams and rivers winding through the rough beauty of the Bohemian Switzerland. Formerly hard to access, the region can now be easily explored without a car. The Ústí nad Labem Regional Tariffs make it easy to use buses and trains to travel to the Pravčická Brána rock arch, the recently reconstructed Šaunštejn rock castle or Mary’s Lookout.

🏔️ Rýmařov – the gateway to Hrubý Jeseník

The biggest pride of the town is the jewel of North-Moravian Baroque, the Church of the Visitation, also called the V Lipkách Chapel, with beautiful fresco paintings. The town museum maps the history of the region and opens regular exhibitions at the Pranýř and Octopus galleries. There is also the Hrádek geological exhibition. You can visit the premises of the Hedva Český Brokát factory to see an exhibition about the history of textile manufacturing. It has been part of the Technical Route since 2019. Or see the nearby gallery of the naïve painter and poet Marie Kodovská.  

Lower Ohře region adventure

The southernmost part of the Ústí nad Labem Region is full of beautiful nature, history, legends and cultural monuments. The landscape along the lower part of the Ohře River features the towns of Klášterec nad Ohří, Kadaň, Louny, Žatec or Podbořany with many castles, palaces and mysterious places. There is a lot to explore for everybody. After that, you might feel like tasting the local produce real farm cheese, beer made in local breweries from local high-quality hops, or wine from local vineyards.

Cycling frenzy in eastern Bohemia

Do you like to cycle during your summer holidays? We have several confirmed tips in the Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions. Choose any of the 15 cycling routes with respect to your cycling skills or preference. There are routes in the plains or on the hills and mountain ridges. There is also a competition until 30 September 2022. Collect five stamps in your card and you can win interesting prizes. The top prize is a Kross mountain bike, and there are also vouchers for trips to Eastern Bohemia, souvenirs or tickets.
