Český Těšín is one of the most important and most frequented border crossings to Poland. In the past there was a significant Jewish minority, and there were also three synagogues in the village that were destroyed by the Nazis. Only the Schomre-Schabos Synagogue and the Jewish Cemetery were preserved.
