In the heart of the second largest monument resevation in the Czech Republic, there are several historical treasures that you simply have to explore. The upper square is dominated by the monumental Baroque column of the Holy Trinity with more than 40 sculptures, which is proud to be listed in the UNESCO World Heritage. You can also admire six baroque fountains or a local astronomical clock from the 15th century.

The fact that Olomouc is one of the most important Czech religious centers can not be doubted. An important target of the pilgrims is the Basilica of Virgin Mary on the Holy Hill, the heart of the parish. According to the legend, the Mother of God appeared here in the dream of a rich merchan, who was later worshiped as the Queen of Moravia. Holy Hill is also a place of many weddings for its charms.

If you go out for a trip with children, definitely do plan a visit of the Olomouc Zoo. It is located near the Holy Hill and there are several unusual attractions waiting for you. You will be thrilled by the bats pavilion and the giant aquarium for sharks, which is the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. From the observation tower you will see the whole zoo and city as if on the palm of your hand.
