The center of the town is the pride of the city: more than a kilometer long, narrow square. Besides the dome of St. Elizabeth's, you can see also Art Nouveau theater or singing fountain. Artificial channel reminiscent of the time when creek flowded the center of the square. Main Street is full of outdoor restaurants is a great place to spend the evening, especially in summer and autumn.

What to visit in Košice?

Pedestrian zone

Pedestrian zone

The city center is made up of a narrow, over a kilometer long square, where you will find Art Nouveau theater or a singing fountain. The monument of the stream that once flowed here is an artificial canal; the tracks remind you of the time when the tram was here. The square is surrounded by lots of restaurants and bars.

In the middle of the square there is the largest Gothic cathedral in Slovakia, with its dome-shaped main tower remarkably resembling the Church of St. Vitus in Prague. The cathedral accommodates up to 5,000 people and the interior decoration is beautiful. Enjoy beautiful views of the nearby Urban Tower, the original belfry.

In the park near the Gothic cathedral there is a singing fountain, from which various tones can be heard every hour. After the chimes fall away, the fountain shines and squeezes into the rhythm of the music. It is the first fountain of its kind in the then Czechoslovakia.
