Leo Express Connects Germany, Czechia, and Poland by Train Up to the Ukrainian Border. Service Starting June 2026
Prague, 17 December 2025 - Leo Express is launching a trans-European rail connection linking major urban centers in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland all the way to the Ukrainian border. The service will operate once daily in both directions. The route starts in the border-adjacent Polish city of Przemyśl and passes through Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, and Erfurt, terminating at Frankfurt and Frankfurt Airport. Tickets for the new line, which begins operation on June 25, 2026, are already on sale, starting from 10 EUR. Leo Express trains on this route will offer Wi-Fi, power outlets, onboard refreshments, air conditioning, and additional services.
“Leo Express is introducing a new, full-fledged trans-European connection linking key administrative, financial, and industrial centers such as Frankfurt – home to one of Europe’s largest airports – with cultural hubs like Kraków, Prague, and Weimar. At over 1,300 kilometers, this is one of the longest direct train services in Europe,” said Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express. He continued: “With this new route, we are also removing the iron curtains between Western and Eastern Europe, connecting important European centers and providing access to Ukraine. In Germany, we are creating an alternative to existing operators.”
Train 232 departs from Przemyśl at 13:31 and arrives at Frankfurt Airport the following day at 07:53. The return service departs at 08:27 as Train 235 and reaches Przemyśl at 02:23. The first journey will take place on June 25, 2026. Trains on this route feature Wi-Fi, power outlets, onboard refreshments, air conditioning, and other services. Fares between the endpoints start at 10 EUR.
Currently, connections are sold without seat reservations. Starting in January, Leo Express will introduce tickets with seat reservations as well as a Business Class for even more comfortable travel. Additional onboard services will also be introduced. Customers who purchase tickets without seat reservations will be able to choose their seat after the change.

Safety, reliability, and international background
Leo Express has long been among the carriers with the best results in terms of safety, reliability, and punctuality. Thanks to regular and thorough maintenance of its fleet, the carrier avoids failures of systems key to passenger comfort, such as heating or air conditioning, and maintains a high level of operational safety. These results are also supported by its international shareholder structure. The largest shareholder is Renfe, the Spanish national railway operator with extensive experience in high-speed rail. Other investors come from both the Czech Republic and abroad, underlining the international character of the company and its focus on the European market.
