Leo Express Exceeds EUR 40 Million in Revenue Again in 2025 and Reports a Profit
Prague, June 30 2026
Based on audited results, Leo Express achieved consolidated revenues of EUR 42,48 million in 2025, surpassing the EUR 40 million mark for the second consecutive year. At the same time, the company transported 4.5 million passengers, up from 3.8 million in 2024, representing a year‑on‑year increase of 19.2%. Leo Express thus ranks among the fastest‑growing transport operators in Central Europe. Leo Express trains covered nearly 5 million train‑kilometres.
Despite significant investments to expand the fleet with additional trainsets and carriages for new international routes, consolidated EBITDAR (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and rent) reached EUR 12,37 million in 2025, while net profit amounted to EUR 668 000.
“Last year was marked by preparations for the expansion of our services, which is now under way. Despite substantial investments associated with launching new routes, we once again managed to exceed EUR 40 million in revenue and remain profitable. Passenger numbers are also growing, even though, for example, the entire Czech market stagnated with growth of only 0.17%*. In terms of passenger numbers, we are among the fastest‑growing carriers in Central Europe. Given the expansion of our routes, for example the recently launched connection Przemyśl – Prague – Frankfurt, we would like to reach 6 million passengers transported by the end of this year,” says Leo Express CEO Peter Köhler.
In the first three months of 2026, Leo Express transported more than 1 milion passengers, which represents a year-on-year increase of 4%.
A Year of Investments and Preparations for the Launch of International Routes
For Leo Express, 2025 was a year of significant investments related to the launch of new international routes in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and Ukraine. Recently, Leo Express has successfully launched operations on the Przemyśl – Prague – Frankfurt route. The carrier invested substantial financial resources in launching these services, including the fleet expansion by adding new trainsets and carriages.
From 1 March 2026, Leo Express launched domestic services on the Kraków–Warsaw route, including international connections Prague–Kraków–Warsaw. From 25 June, the carrier doubled the number of domestic services to four return trips per day on the Warsaw–Kraków route and added a third pair of services on the international Warsaw–Kraków–Prague route.
From 30 April, Leo Express launched a new international connection between the Czech Republic and Slovakia: Prague – Pardubice – Olomouc – Otrokovice – Staré Město – Bratislava. This includes the return of direct Leo Express services from the Slovácko and Zlín regions to Prague and connects to the regional Bratislava–Komárno line, where Leo Express has been operating for more than 2 years now. The carrier also operates a route between Prague and Prešov.
On 25 June 2026, a new international route from Germany to the Czech border of Poland was launched, marking Leo Express’s entry into the German market with a commercial long‑distance service on the future Frankfurt am Main – Leipzig – Dresden – Prague – Ostrava – Kraków – Przemyśl transeuropean route.
From 13 December 2026, following a successful public tender, Leo Express trains will also operate the Ex36 line of the Czech Ministry of Transport on the route Prague – Plzeň – Regensburg and onward to Munich.
