You can count on us even during the summer heat. We regularly check the air conditioning on our trains, and if it isn’t working, you’ll receive compensation of up to 150% of the fare in leo credits. Refreshing drinks and electrolytes are also available on board.

Air Conditioning for Everyone

We automatically adjust the air conditioning intensity based on the outside temperature to prevent temperature shocks. In addition, trains are cooled before departure so that the interior is comfortable as soon as you board. We also use additional measures, such as ventilation through open windows or shading with curtains and blinds where the train coach design allows.

Up to 150% Refund

We regularly inspect and service our air-conditioning systems to ensure they are fully operational during the summer. Should the air-conditioning fail throughout the train, we offer passengers compensation of between 25 and 150 % of the fare in leo credits, depending on the situation. You can use these to purchase further tickets or refreshments on board.

Refreshing Menu

Try the new additions to our summer menu – we offer popular chilled cocktails, delicious ice creams and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. As well as emergency supplies of bottled water, we also have electrolyte tablets available on board, which help to quickly replenish fluids and minerals lost through sweating and reduce the risk of dehydration in high temperatures.

Our aim is to ensure that travel remains comfortable, safe and reliable even during the hottest summer days. That is why it is important for passengers to prepare for their journey themselves. Although there is a sufficient supply of drinks on board, we recommend that you bring your own drinks on these days so that you can top up your fluids not only during the train journey. Passengers who take medication regularly should carry it with them as well.

If the air conditioning is not working on the route for which the customer purchased a ticket, 25–150% of the ticket price will be refunded in bonus leo credits, depending on the conditions in the coach
If the air conditioning fails in only one of the coaches, the customer may be transferred to another coach with functioning air conditioning; in this case, there is no entitlement to a fare refund
This offer is valid for trains departing from 0:01 on July 14, 2026, through 23:59 on August 31, 2026
This offer applies only to commercial LE* train services and regional LET* and LESK* train services. It does not apply to partner services or bus services. This promotion does not apply to charter services.
This promotion does not apply to time-based route tickets
To be eligible for compensation in the event of air conditioning failure, you must purchase the ticket as a registered member of the Smile Club loyalty program and be logged in as a user at the time of purchase; otherwise, the bonus credit will not be awarded
In the event of air conditioning failure, bonus leo credits will be credited no later than 30 days after the ticket is used
The event organizer reserves the right to suspend or terminate this promotion at any time without providing a reason
Leo Express has sole discretion over the crediting of additional leo credits under this promotion and these terms and conditions, even in cases of doubt as to whether the air conditioning was functioning on the given trip
There is no legal entitlement to the crediting of leo credits under these terms and conditions, and such a claim cannot be enforced in court

Air conditioning is out of order for over 60 minutes and temperature inside the coach higher than 30 °C	25% of the fare
Air conditioning is out of order for over 180 minutes and temperature inside the coach higher than 30 °C	100% of the fare
Air conditioning out of order for over 180 minutes, temperature inside the coach higher than 35 °C, and no possibility of effective ventilation or transfer to another coach	150% of the fare

Compensation is provided in bonus leo credits only to passengers in the affected coach. If multiple compensation levels are met, only the highest compensation will be credited. To receive compensation, please contact our customer service at [email protected].
