Our Air Conditioning Works

You can count on us even during the summer heat. We regularly check the air conditioning on our trains, and if it isn’t working, you’ll receive compensation of up to 150% of the fare in leo credits. Refreshing drinks and electrolytes are also available on board.

Air Conditioning for Everyone

We automatically adjust the air conditioning intensity based on the outside temperature to prevent temperature shocks. In addition, trains are cooled before departure so that the interior is comfortable as soon as you board. We also use additional measures, such as ventilation through open windows or shading with curtains and blinds where the train coach design allows.

Up to 150% Refund

We regularly inspect and service our air-conditioning systems to ensure they are fully operational during the summer. Should the air-conditioning fail throughout the train, we offer passengers compensation of between 25 and 150 % of the fare in leo credits, depending on the situation. You can use these to purchase further tickets or refreshments on board.

Refreshing Menu

Try the new additions to our summer menu – we offer popular chilled cocktails, delicious ice creams and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks. As well as emergency supplies of bottled water, we also have electrolyte tablets available on board, which help to quickly replenish fluids and minerals lost through sweating and reduce the risk of dehydration in high temperatures.

Our aim is to ensure that travel remains comfortable, safe and reliable even during the hottest summer days. That is why it is important for passengers to prepare for their journey themselves. Although there is a sufficient supply of drinks on board, we recommend that you bring your own drinks on these days so that you can top up your fluids not only during the train journey. Passengers who take medication regularly should carry it with them as well.

Compensation is provided in bonus leo credits only to passengers in the affected coach. If multiple compensation levels are met, only the highest compensation will be credited. To receive compensation, please contact our customer service at [email protected].
