Railways are a Heartfelt Matter

He worked his way up from a manual labour job to a managerial profession. As a result, he now understands his colleagues much better. At the age of fifty, he stepped out of his comfort zone straight between the fast moving Leo Express trains. He has never regretted his decision. Passenger and international transport is a challenge that fulfills him and moves him forward.

From Zero to Great Heights

In his previous job, Martin enthusiastically seized the chance to start a new division (dispatcher, for example) and to train employees. In short, to start building things from scratch. “At Leo Express, it was first necessary to get to know the local train perfectly, so I, as we say, ‘got to know’ the unit. I worked as a traditional driver-in-training, passed the necessary tests and then was able to continue.” This is why he can understand his co-workers needs and can better address their problems. So what does the position of the Head of Train Operations entail? The management of the entire train operation is part of the management of operations in terms of organizational, personnel, professional and control systems. Martin is responsible for the internal regulations of Leo Express, the preparation of the annual SMS audit, management of traffic regulations, identification of causes of incidents and coordination of Leo Express train operations. He works with the people responsible for the operation of individual units, which include the operating methodologist, on-board service technologist, supervisor, instructors, train operator, on-board security supervisor, the drivers themselves and traffic controllers.

I want to do everything to make the passengers happy. That is why my working hours do not end when I leave the office.
